I wish I could find the right words for Elspeth. I would start by saying that she was a "lady" in the best sense of the word. You could see at once that she had a fine upbringing and very good manners. But the most important was that her heart was a noble one. She did not have a mean bone in her body. I will always cherish her gentleness and good will. Although she was a person with values and principles, she was not judgemental and she would try to find the positive wherever she could.

Unfortunately I met her when her health started to decline, nevertheless I feel lucky that even that I did. I miss her beautiful cards on my name day or on another occasions where she would acknowledge every little thing one did for her or her family. She would always remember to send me with Nick things that she knew I loved e.g. chocolate :). She called me to express her sorrow when my dad passed away, how can I forget that? How can I forget our most enjoyable lunch in Eptastadion/Iraion while she was struggling with her health issues. But she was such a pleasant company with a subtle and non-offensive sense of humor. When I called to wish her Merry Christma, she would retort "Chronia Polla" in Greek. 

The earthly body of Elspeth is not alive but her soul is immortal. She is in heaven, and she will always be with us.
