Francesca Barton 20th December 2020

Dear John, Nick and Matthew, I was desperately sad to hear that Elspeth had passed away. Elspeth was a beautiful person, and as her sons this was nothing new, she was reflected in your lives for everyone to see. I first got to know Elspeth when we worked together at the Referral Unit and then was lucky to count her as a friend outside of work, which included our book group. Elspeth was unique, one of those people in life that truly stand apart from the everyday. She was the epitome of kindness, gentility and possessed an innate sophistication that only reinforced her goodness. Elspeth radiated beauty. I know she touched many lives through her work with teenagers, her charity work and her large circle of friends. Finally, and most important, her family, who were her cornerstone, something we were full of admiration and respect for. I wish you the strength and courage these next few weeks and months as your lives adjust. Elspeth will though live on in our collective memories. Respectfully, Francesca Barton
